For Beginners
Below is a list of basic ordering options. Sizes for jackets and masks may vary depending on what brand of equipment is being ordered. Cotton jackets will usually shrink, which needs to be considered when determining the proper size. The best way to determine correct sizing is consult the charts that each vendor provides on their web site. If there’s still a question it’s best to contact customer service and have them walk through the fitting process with you.

Options you’ll need to consider when placing an order:
Mask: XS / S / M / L / XL
Gender: M / F
Hand: L / R
Jacket size: ________
Jacket type: back zip / front zip (recommended)
Glove: XS / S / M / L / XL
Weapon Type: foil, épée, or sabre
Grip: French/Pistol (consult with the instructor)
Blade size: #5 (standard – for adults), or #0, #2 (smaller sizes for youth – consult with a coach)

For Practice
Students are not required to purchase electric equipment although it does enhance the bouting experience. It also helps to be familiar with how to use electric gear if you’re thinking about competing or if you ever decide to fence at another club. The cost of a basic set of electric gear ranges from $100 to $130 depending on where it’s purchased and what options are chosen.
